EA FC Terminology: Your Guide to Common FIFA Game Abbreviations

EA FC, previously known as FIFA, is a popular video game series loved by football fans around the world.

However, if you’re new to the game you may not understand some of the abbreviations used. Understanding this terminology can help when creating a  personalised EA FC football card, so read on to get clued up!

Essential EA FC Abbreviations

These are the essential EA FC abbreviations you may not have come across if you’ve not played the game before:

AbbreviationMeaning
EA FCElectronic Arts Football Club – Electronic Arts is the video game developer that makes the world’s most popular football game. They bring out a new edition every year, adding the year to the game’s title (EA FC 24 etc.)
FIFAFédération Internationale de Football Association – football’s worldwide governing body and the pre-2024 name for the EA FC video game (FIFA 23 etc.)

OVROverall Rating – A numerical value ranging from 0 to 99 that provides a general assessment of a player's skill level.

EA FC Attribute Abbreviations

Known as 'attributes,' these are the skill ratings each player has in EA FC's Ultimate Team mode (FUT). Outfield players and goalkeepers have different attributes due to the different skillsets needed for these positions.

When you choose a custom-printed FUT card from Card Creators, these abbreviations also feature on each card. You can choose custom attributes if you like but most people opt to use the attributes used in the EA FC game.

These attributes are scored out of 100, although capped at 99. A score in the 90s means the player is exceptional on that attribute, 80s means very good and 70s good. We would recommend opting for scores in the 70+ ranges if you want to give your footy fan confidence in their ability!
